After the semester break, it's time to move ahead and create more memories in university.
Last Saturday (10/01/2015), it's the spring retreat for HC Class 2017. Unlike the past years where the class would go to Macau Tower and had a adventure in the sky, this year's retreat is a brand new start for the semester.
Frankly speaking, I was quite nervous about the retreat because we needed to make a 3-minute video within a short period of time. When I got into the classroom at 8:30 a.m., the atmosphere was a bit silent and it seems most of us were very sleepy. At the first ice breaking game, we needed to name the classmate that passed a ball to us and say something positive about him/her. I recognized most classmates' faces and had talked to them before. But I was ashamed that I did not remember many of the their names even though we had spent a semester together. Moreover, I realized this situation also happened to many of other classmates. This game was a good test to make us reflect on our relationship with the rest of the class, and that of the class as a whole. At that moment, I made a promise to myself that I will try my best to remember each one of my classmates within this month, and get to know more about them through communications and joining activities together. If time allows, I really want to have more gatherings with my classmates throughout the semester!
The video production, as the highlight of the retreat, required each group of students to make a video about HC and leadership. Throughout the video-making, I worked well with my group mates - Wing, Gabriella, Lili, John, Kathy - we had efficient discussions for the plot as well as the filming, and we tried our best to use the unfamiliar video editing software. When the deadline was chasing us while we were editing the video together, all of us were anxious and unsure how to make certain effects, but still, we supported one another to press fast but not in hurry. At last, we were able to submit the video at the original deadline. What matters is not the prize, but the precious experience of working together as a team and fight for a common goal. The first mission for Group 7 is completed, and I am looking forward to our upcoming projects and activities.

The video from each group is indeed amazing and meaningful. I believe our class of 2017 is now getting closer and closer, and will be united as one soon. At the end of the retreat, when seeing everyone in the class wearing the same HC class jacket, I was moved. This is my class; this is our class; we are HC class 2017.
The number 48 at the back of the jacket represents 48 of us. Each one of us is unique and is a significant part of the family. The class is only complete when all 48 of us are in it. I am grateful for being one member in this family. We are meant to be together and we should cherish all the time that we have together, strive to graduate together.
