4th and 11th February are two an important days of our class - it's the Leadership Workshop series (I & II) organized by our class! This activity is prepared for UM students interested in learning about leadership, especially the year one students who wish to apply to HC. The themes of the workshop series are Servant Leadership, Kindness and Gratitude. We believe these are the crucial characteristics that one should possess to be a good leader. To learn these characteristics, there are about 10 elements, which were discussed in the two workshops.
The topics of the workshop 1 on 4th February is LEAP, standing for Listening, Empathy and Kindness, Awareness, and People Oriented. We wanted to share the knowledge in a lively an interesting way, so we integrated games, videos, explanations and sharing. I am one of the committee for the leadership workshop 1.
The organizing process is challenging and the time schedule is tight, but I am very happy that we get each others' back. No one can do everything well without the support and cooperation as a team. Moreover, it is important to make detailed and alternative plans for an activity because anything can happen that make the workshop being spoiled. We faced a lot of accidents on that afternoon, such as the venue change, classroom projector breaking down and microphone problems, but we were able to be adaptive and make suitable changes. Overall, the workshop ran smoothly and both the participants and our class enjoyed a fruitful afternoon.
The biggest thing that I have achieved in this workshop is definitely FRIENDSHIP.
