During the week, there were several important announcements with regard to the HC course and promotion month, such as the leadership workshops, the promotion month activities and the talent show - we will need to organize another leadership workshop in March, and the time for the talent show will be a week earlier than planned. We could foresee the extremely busy schedule ahead. I was shocked, stressed and afraid that I would be up to my neck, and not able to do the best out of the best. I also recognized another big enemy - procrastination - that it lowers my working efficiency and keep my plate full. This fear of busy also applies to many of my classmates, and resulted in our hesitation in taking up important responsibilities such as the director of the talent show.
One day, I came across a quote by Zig Ziglar that inspires me to change the current situation:
"Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude."
Sometimes, what prohibits us from moving forward is neither the impossible task nor our ability's limitation, but the inferior attitude of thinking that we will never be able to accomplish it. But, we should make our own sunshine, instead of blaming the dark situation. When we can change our attitude into embracing the challenge bravely and optimistically, everything will become easier and we will be much happier in doing the tasks.
No cross, no crown. Every tasks that we are facing in HC, though challenging and busy, are actually beneficial to both ourselves and the UM community. We will gain more knowledge, accumulate precious leadership experiences, push our limits to new extent, explore new talents, improve the relationships within the class and with other parties, and much more other benefits. It is usually the harsh process that makes flower blooms more beautifully.
For this week, my group mates and I accomplished another great project of producing our Group's introduction video. We made a try of using iMovie to edit the video, in which most of us had no idea of it before this week. We aimed high and put as much time into this video as possible. We first discussed on the style of video, and set a timetable of when to film the video and when to do the editing together at the library. We supported one another and after the much devotion in this video making, we are proud to announce that we make an excellent video !
